Lets get back to the installation.. I have divided the installation process into phases for better understanding.

Go to Outpost Firewall download and download the Executable.

Now you have the executable named  something like 'OutpostProInstall.exe'. On Double Click exe you will see the following window.

From the drop down menu you can choose your preferred language to be installed on your PC. and press OK button. Now the welcome window will appear, press 'NEXT'.

After pressing 'Next', the  EULA(End User License Agreement)  window will appear with a checkbox. If we check it, the Outpost will submit potentially malicious applications, new applications, malewares to the outpost server. Will further checked by the experts of the Outpost.

They call this process as ImproveNet program. Its optional to check or uncheck the box.

A window for selecting the installation type will emerge, post accepting the terms conditions. There are two ways of Outpost installations. They are Typical and Custom(i.e. Advanced ) types of installations.

Typical Type Installation:

Typical installation will install the outpost with the standard security settings, with outpost defaults. Its hassle-free way of installing the outpost. Recommended for newbies and standard users. For now we are going for Typical installation type. Custom type will be detailed in next subsequent post.

Selecting Typical type will start installing Outpost on the system as below:

After completing the progress, press 'Finish'. The System restart confirmation will appear with two radio buttons. If we go with the default selected radio button, the system will restart instantly. If we choose the another radio button, a Firewall settings window will appear, where you can edit the settings as you want.

When the system reboots the Outpost will ask for the Keys or for a Purchase or Continue with Trial mode.

After installing Outpost, default windows firewall will be turned off. And Outpost will take the full charge from now on.

A new icon will appear in the 'Notification Area' like the following one.

Double clicking icon will show the Main Outpost Firewall pro window like below one.

Now your Outpost is successfully Installed on the system, and you are ready to go.

Firewall - Your armour while you are online

Firewalls

A firewall can either be software-based or hardware-based and is used to help keep a network secure. Its primary objective is to control the incoming and outgoing network traffic by analyzing the data packets and determining whether it should be allowed through or not, based on a predetermined rule set. A network's firewall builds a bridge between an internal network that is assumed to be secure and trusted, and another network, usually an external (inter)network, such as the Internet, that is not assumed to be secure and trusted.
Many personal computer operating systems include software-based firewalls to protect against threats from the public Internet. Many routers that pass data between networks contain firewall components and, conversely, many firewalls can perform basic routing functions. [Source : Wiki]
